The Time For Action Is Today
How many times have you heard excuses? No, not from others, but from yourself? You and I both know that our daily lives are littered with reasons why we are not going to do something. No excuses, it is time for action NOW!.
I think it is time for all of us to refrain from deliberate, poor and inadequate explanations. It is all too easy to try and justify procrastination or a lack of progress. No excuses, it is time for action NOW!.
“Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.”
Leadership Is About Taking Responsibility And Not Making Excuses
Most people want to become a leader, what about you. Are you ready to rumble? But understand, if you go down this exciting route you will have to accept full responsibility and take no prisoners. Meaning that you cannot offer any excuses if things don’t go well.
There are too many people in politics, corporate, police and business etc, who want the top jobs, but when things go horribly wrong, very few of them stand up to be counted or take it on the chin and say, “I got it wrong.”
Personally when I was working as a detective, on many occasions, I remember taking the can for mistakes made by my team or if I got it wrong, I would say. “I made a mistake. I am sorry.”
People actually find it quite refreshing, honest and you will be surprised by the reactions of others when you are admit flaws, it is usually very positive. Most defaulters want to defend their actions and end up making matters much worse.
“People want a cop-out, listen I’m a realist and I talk about motivation, talk about all the things it takes to be greater or are important to win and people want to use excuses all the time.”
So It Really Is Time For Action Now
Because you are reading this, I want you do do something now, in the next 2 minutes. Make a telephone call to a prospective partner or customer and build some rapport. What you say is totally up to you. But don’t delay this call for a single moment. Stop reading this blog and do it now.
How did the call go? Do you feel better for having made the telephone call. If so do at least two more now. This is what taking action is all about. Procrastination is like a flu virus, it just spreads rapidly and causes mayhem, so don’t let it get a foothold.
Make sure that you get into action every day. The key is to make a solid plan and then implement it to the letter. When I trained for the marathon I set up a two year training program and had a 95% completion.
The result was going from someone who couldn’t even run a mile continuously, to someone who became super fit and found running 20 miles straight off very easy. Learn to work at your goal every day and you will succeed.
“At the end of the day, let there be no excuses, no explanations, no regrets.”
