Obsession First Followed By Massive Action

Obsession First, Prizes Second

I suppose the short statement, ‘Obsession first’ will probably cause arguments or at least fierce discussion. But you better believe that the very top awards nearly always go to the person(s) that obsess about being who they are or want to become, whether we are talking about being an athlete, film star, politician or Super Bowl head coach.obsession first

If you study the very top people that can be found in many industries, sports teams or political parties, you will find that most or all of them were obsessed with getting to the top.

Now does this mean they abandoned all their beliefs and family members so they could realize their dream? In some cases probably, but all of them desired to get to the very top and most likely took no prisoners on their way.

So will you have to do it this way, probably not, but it will be very close to that state of mind known as obsession. I think it depends on who you are, what you want and how badly you want it. The answers to those questions will determine what sacrifices you will make on your own journey to get to the very top.

I remember two instances where I displayed either an obsession or a firmness of purpose. The first was training for a cross country. Now anyone who knew me was aware that I was an athlete, but hated cross country. But I took on a challenge suggested to me from a fellow police cadet to take part in a championship. I told him that if I entered the race I would win it. I did train solidly for 4 months and won it.

The second time I did this was when I was training for a marathon over two years which worked in part. But the key was that nothing was going to stand in my way. Was it obsession? I don’t really know, but I can say that my focus worked big time and all other distractions were pushed to one side, even girlfriends etc.

I do believe that at the very least you should be absolutely determined to reach your objective in any way you can as long as you are not violating the rights of anyone else and acting with total integrity.

As far as obsessing is concerned, that will be your own choice to make.Either you do or you do not.
