Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

Keep Your Eyes On The Prize In Network Marketing

It is a skill to be able to keep your eyes on the prize, as long as you know exactly what the reward is, for all your hard work. Most people come into network marketing and they have no clue whatsoever, other than a lot of money. Come on guys, why are you doing this? Why are you building or attempting to build a business if you are not being specific about what you want?

This is important for you NOW, to decide what it is that you want, define it clearly, specifically and write it down. If you don’t, then you will most probably be wasting your precious time, because you will get nowhere. You must know what the incentive is and then keep your eyes on the prize.come what may. Stick your goal on the fridge or a place where you can see it many times every day.

The prize is your reward for working your butt off and doing what most other people will never do in their lifetime. So before you start out you need to zero in on what you desire. Because if you don’t do this as soon as possible, then you will most likely quit early, having failed to live up to your promise.

Should You Focus On The Money?

You can do that if you want, if that motivates you to succeed, but I believe you require a higher purpose than just money. The question you should be asking yourself is, “What can the money do for me?” Are you grafting to pay your kid’s college fund or to buy that new Mercedes? keep your eyes on the prize

So it is not necessarily the money, although this is a personal thing. It is what the money can do for you and your family, that is the most important thing, in my humble opinion.

So Why Keep Your Eyes On The Prize?

It is all about psychology really and making sure the end game is in your vision constantly, so you never lose sight of the incentive or satisfying result that awaits you at the end of the road.

If you were in the Olympic 100 metres final, what or who would you be concentrating on, the other runners or your smooth performance and reaching the finishing line, in the fastest time possible? Now obviously you must keep laser focused on the finishing line all the way. Lose your concentration for a split second and you are history, keep your eyes on the prize.

If you were driving a car which went into a skid, what would be the prize? It would be safety and anyone who knows a bit about advanced driving skills will tell you to keep your eyes on where you want to go period.

What about if you were a soccer player taking a penalty or a field goal kicker in American football. Would you keep your eyes on the prize? Of course you would, because if you didn’t the ball would not end up exactly where you wanted it to.

But Why Keep Your Eyes On The Prize In Network Marketing?

It is basically a very simple concept, because you will have a variation of days during the time that you have allotted towards your goal. ambition or dream. there will be good days and there will be some bad days. There will be days when you want to quit. You may say to yourself, “I have had enough.”  By having your goal in front of you repeatedly, you are able to keep your eyes on the prize which may well be the one thing that keeps you on track, stops you from giving up, reminds you about the reward and helps you remain totally focused.

I remember as an athlete, training every day and there were days when you wanted to spend your time engaged in much more pleasurable activities, rather than running 8 X 200 metres or running up sand dunes. But you keep going if your reasons are strong enough and you have a clear mental picture of why you are doing the hard graft.

The clear mental picture for me was a combination of vividly visualising winning the race and the prize or feeling I would get by achieving my target, which was first place. Yes I kept my eye on the prize and network marketing is absolutely no different. Oh and by the way I won the race.

Remember keep your eye on the prize always.
