Keen Sense Of Justice: The Major Attributes Of Leadership Part III
Keen sense of justice: Well for me this means being fair all the way around to everybody. So what does ‘Think and Grow Rich’ say about this particular subject. Napoleon Hill mentions that a leader cannot command or retain the respect of his/her followers if there is no fairness or justice.
What I would say would be that command is a strong word. So I would strongly suggest replacing that word and use the word rapport. In other words if you were not being fair in your dealings with people your relationship or rapport with those same people would be affected.
I think that your reputation would be tarnished as well. I believe that you have to allow people to have their own views and be a little bit more accepting of other people and their opinions. Being fair to me is telling it like it is with no fluff or BS. Having said that we all know that life isn’t fair on occasions.
You cannot live with your head in the clouds and expect fairness to abound everywhere. I think being aware of what is fair should be a starting point and use fairness at every opportunity that you can. Justice is a powerful word and we have to be very careful how this word is used.
Some people join the word justice with aggression, which should be the very last resort. I think justice for me is all about achieving a result that is palatable for everyone. I think another word that should go with justice is forgiveness because an error, mistake or crime happens.
By all means punish in the right circumstances but at some stage you will need to move on. This is where a leader will show their greatness by not remaining in the past but have the vision to always look forward.
To Your Success
Keen sense of justice.
