How Do You Develop A Losing Mentality?
Well, this comes at a bad time of year, doesn’t it? The thing is you see articles and blog entries written all of the time about developing a winning mentality. But to be completely honest what most of us are doing are learning is how to develop a losing mentality.
I hope that I have made you angry first and now you have peeled yourself off of the ceiling, we can actually turn this around for you next year. We all think that we are doing the right things, but we are really creating bad habits and not reaching our goals.
So, strip everything away for the new year and concentrate on being ruthlessly efficient with your very valuable time. When you take some kind of action in your business, make sure that it counts. In other words if you are, let’s say, going to listen or watch a training audio/video, then set aside the required one hour and remove all other distractions completely. Concentrate fully on that specific task.
Do not let any other thing get in your way, such as the telephone or Facebook etc. What I am trying to say is there are too many times when we intend to do something and we get totally distracted. If you allow distratcion to enter into the story, then you are leaning how to develop a losing mentality and becoming a master at it. I remember training as an athlete and not allowing anything to get in the way of my training.
I knew what I had to do and I did it period. That must be the only way to become ruthlessly efficient at anything. Now, this doesn’t mean to say that you should ignore your partner or family, but what it does mean is that once you have set aside that hour for that particular training session. then you just ensure complete compliance.
If you don’t then you are just a wannabe. So, just to make you feel a little better here. I was the jedi master at putting things off or not completing the task at hand. It was painful (not really) but I cracked this monster last year. When I say to myself that I am going to do something, I do it.
To make sure that you do not develop or continue to develop a losing mentality, just complete your task, project or idea. Not only will you feel great but you will be moving to a winning mentality, so much so that you will have more time to do the things that you love.
