The habit of doing more than anyone else is prepared to do, is where leaders excel. Leaders must be willing to initiate more action than their group and also they must be seen to do more than the masses. The key for the leader is being careful of doing too much for others. Delegation must be utilized in order to avoid burn out and overwhelm. Every team member should to do their part within the organization, to enable it to run as smooth as possible.

There are two areas where the habit of doing more could affect the leader adversely. The first area is in relation to time management. Now time is an extremely valuable and precious commodity. It is very easy for the leader of the pack to use the bulk of their own time just helping people and achieving little else.

Effective leaders will obviously train, coach and mentor people, but they must use their time wisely. A leader can train a 1000 on a webinar, need I say more than that. Promise less, deliver more, seems to be the order of the day at the present time. One to one time can be effective, if used sparingly and only for those individuals or couples who deserve the leader’s time.

The second area to be looked at, is the area of doing so much for people, that it makes them rely on the a leader. thereby allowing the individual to escape any work. By all means the leader needs to guide them, but let them do most of the work for themselves and find any answers they seek, without spoon feeding.

The leader needs to be the first there and the last to leave. In other words the leader has to be seen at the front giving their all. The leader must allow team members to flourish, thrive and grow. This can only be achieved if the team members are encouraged to do it for themselves as much as possible.

Duplication is the holy grail in network marketing. It has to come into the mix at some stage, otherwise massive success will remain a pipe dream. Teams will follow what the leader does, so they have to make sure they are worth following in the first place.
