Effective Leaders Are Excellent At Great Decision Making
This article is about the 7 essential components to great decision-making and the process all top people should follow to ease the process along smoothly.
There is absolutely no way in this world, that you can become an outstanding leader or a successful entrepreneur, within the network marketing profession, without becoming a brilliant decision maker.
Great leadership and rapid decision-making go hand in hand, like bread and butter.
Making fast choices, does not mean jumping in with both feet without thinking or considering the consequences of your actions.
You must select the right path to travel along. Hopefully this can be done within a relatively short space of time. Great decision-making is a super skill to acquire.
You must not make a choice without weighing up the pros and cons first.
The key is to take a bit of time to see both sides of an argument or opportunity, before diving in headlong into the abyss.
My advice would be this. Instead of making a decision immediately without considering the options, take your time and make an educated and informed decision. You will be able to do this when you have all the facts and when the time is right for you.
Taking one or two days to come to a decision is acceptable. If someone is pushing you and wants the decision quicker, stay in control and work to your schedule, not theirs. But treat everyone with the due respect they deserve by staying in touch.
Spend at least 4 to 6 hours or may be more, conducting your own research. Look to ask relevant questions and obtain the right answers for you, before making any commitment.
This whole process can be completed within a 24 hour period. You chose the time frame and do not let anyone railroad you into making the wrong decision.
Here Are The 7 Essential Components:
1. Does A Decision Need To Be Taken Or Not?
When you encounter a situation, where a decision has to be made, make sure you properly identify whether or not a decision needs to be made in the first instance. On some occasions you may not have to act at all.
I am not advocating making an excuse for a lack of a decision here or any form of procrastination. It is about taking appropriate amount of time to be able to make the right decision for you.
If you have to make a decision, then there is never going to be any guarantee that you will have made the right call here. Be prepared to be wrong on occasions, that is just something that you will have to accept. Remember you will be the one taking the plaudits and congratulations if it goes well and the moans and criticism if it doesn’t.
2. Precision Is Definitely The Way Forward
Make sure that you are precise about your intentions, your outcome or your goal. Definiteness of purpose is a vital factor in decision-making. Being definite is crucial in your decision-making process.
Precision helps you stay on track and helps eliminate any doubt, indecision, or fear.
They say that successful people make decisions quickly and rarely change them, if at all. So be exact in what you do and stay focused on the destination.
3. Be Prepared For Opposition
There is always going to be those negative naysayers and attackers who will challenge anything that you do, whether that is with good intentions or they are possibly jealous. Ignore those ignorant people and only seek counsel from fellow leaders and trusted people. Never good old Harry down the local bar or pub.
But in the end it is your decision and your decision alone that really matters. If you make an incorrect decision, then you will arrive much quicker at that dead-end or cul-de-sac, rather than becoming that indecisive individual, who is still thinking about it.

4. Ensure That You Bold, Confident And Courageous With Your Decision Making
Super decision-making is not for the weak, intimidated or the cowardly amongst us.
The vast majority of people couldn’t make a judgement, choice or decision, even if their life hung in the balance or their future depended on it.
This is where you MUST stand out from the crowd. The payoff for going for it is immense, huge.
5. Masterminding With The Best Is thoroughly Recommended.
Now you don’t have to make that decision before you have had time to run it by someone you trust implicitly, so long as that person has some sufficient clout, years of experience or is a recognized and respected authority within your genre.
I hope that this person(s) is someone that you can seek guidance from, mastermind/brainstorm with or is recommended by a trusted friend or similar.
Taking advice doesn’t make you any less decisive and it does depend on what the decision is originally.
You should never shy away from effective coaching or taking counsel from the best available.
6. Make Research A Must If It Is Required
You should always do your homework first, before rushing into something. Do the necessary due diligence first and find out all the facts, information that will help you come to what you think is the correct decision.
There are always going to be more than one option that is available to you. You must accept that you will make errors and mistakes, but that is the price of success and just one of those things you must go through on your journey.
But in the end let your strength shine through like a headlamp, forging it’s way through the forest.
7. Decisions Can Be Hard So Just Make It
When you make a decision you elevate yourself into an elite band or group of people, who follow through on their intentions and dreams.
In the end you have to step up to the plate and shout it out to the world, well maybe not out aloud to others, but definitely to yourself.
Any big decision can be really difficult to make, but just the sheer art of persistence and tenacity can be enough to carry you through any dark times. Always take massive action when it comes to decision making.
Make your decision a reality and move with it in the direction that you want to go in. Don’t waver from that decision, unless it is quite apparent that you are going in the wrong direction or taking an incorrect path.
Lastly make a point of monitoring, checking and writing down the results of your decisions and actions taken. You do this so that you can test and tweak whatever is needed, in order to improve your results.
