Establish Significant Habits One At A Time

Establish Significant Habits That Serve You. Select Wisely

We pick up habits, sometimes without thinking over time and that is fine as long as those habits are good ones. Unfortunately, some habits are not so good for us and they can number in the many. It is the skill of awareness that allows us to establish significant habits that will help us succeed in life and business.

Can habits have a dramatic effect on your growth? I would say that if you choose great habits it can propel every area of your life to levels that you wouldn’t believe. So what are some habits that serve you and what are some ones that will hinder your momentum?

Well, let’s say that you have a challenge remembering to hydrate sufficiently throughout the day and you drink too much caffeine during the same hours. So you initiate a superb habit of drink 64 ounces of water each day. Is that a good habit? Of course health wise it is. This new habit could just be your first massive habit nailed down.

At the same time, you decide to reduce the amount of tea or coffee that you consume in a day. Now one is an addition and the other is a takeaway. Let me ask you a question here. Do you think that you are going to feel better or worse? I will let you answer that question.

How Long Is It Going To Take Me To Secure A Habit?

First of all, it depends on the type of habit you are trying to implement. Let me give you an example: You have been in your corporate job for 30 years possibly and to get through the day you drink 15 cups of tea or coffee? Do you think you are going to master this habit in a day, a week or a month?

You could do it fast, but experience tells me that if you can conquer a bad habit in 21 to 30 days you are doing fantastically well. But remember the key is to win at what you are doing. Some people can take up to 3 or 4 months, so be kind to yourself here and don’t mentally attack yourself if you falter at any time.

Personally, I cut down on the caffeine that I was drinking from 12 to 15 cups a day to 3 maximum rapidly. But I kept forgetting to replace it with other more healthy fluids, so I ended up dehydrated.

So in answer to the time span question, I would suggest that it is probably going to take you a couple of months. They say the average is about 66 days, but I think that you will have to find out for yourself.

What Areas Would You Recommend To Start With?

You know your life and what needs to improve and where. I can only talk about myself here. The areas I worked on were Sleep, Hydration, Exercise, Meditation, Gratitude, Nutrition, Stretching, Oral Hygiene and Positive Learning.

Just know that you can’t change everything overnight and it will take time. Be cool about your journey and know that if you are determined enough you can change things for the better.

Lastly, I haven’t mentioned Network Marketing here and there is a good reason for that. I found that I couldn’t think about business until I mastered those other areas first. Business is now on the Fast Track for me.

You are unique so I would urge you to find your own path in the creation of good habits and elimination of the bad ones.
