Co-operation: The Major Attributes Of Leadership Part XI
I think co-operation goes hand in hand with a pleasing personality. If you are not prepared to cooperate with your team, colleagues or peers and share ideas, then you will not remain a leader very long.
It is the ability to actually work alongside other people, work as a team but at the same time induce others to follow your ideas and suggestions by initiating projects etc. Never burn your bridges with anyone as this can have a very detrimental affect on your team. Look to be an agreeable person and avoid abrasive situations.
The power of a mastermind group would be a good example of cooperation, another would be advertising cooperatives where everyone pays an equal amount and shares the rewards.
The book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill states, “Leadership calls for power and power calls for cooperation.” So cooperation as a leader is all about attracting people into something rather than forcing or scaring them.
People must be drawn towards you as a person, because it is the only way of achieving the level of cooperation that is required by someone in a leadership position.
